Dr. Michael Smallwood, a New Jersey native, was born and raised in small town Port Republic. He attended Stockton University in southern New Jersey where he earned his Bachelors Degree before pursuing his Doctorate in Chiropractic at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up under the chiropractic care of his father, he was raised into the knowledge and understanding of the body’s unique and inborn ability to heal, function, and operate from the inside-out. After marrying his best friend, and now wife, Meghan, together they quickly became passionate about serving others through chiropractic care, helping families and individuals of all ages reach their peak potential.

I am blessed and honored to serve this community with natural health care along side my husband- Dr. Michael. I have experienced firsthand the benefits of principled chiropractic care.
Before meeting Dr. Michael I didn’t understand the principle of chiropractic and the body’s innate ability to heal and function optimally. As a kid, I was sick often and took countless amounts of antibiotics and medications. My immune system was weakened. Into my teenage years I suffered from severe allergies and menstrual and digestive issues and never got relief or healing from any of the medications I was taking. So fast forward a few years; Dr Michael and I got married and moved to Atlanta, Georgia where my chiropractic journey started. My body began to heal through specific chiropractic adjustments and I no longer suffer from any of those health issues! I am so thankful for how chiropractic has impacted mine and our family’s life!
We are proud parents to two beautiful girls. Chiropractic helped me have two healthy and comfortable pregnancies leading to incredibly easy and quick homebirths. Both of our girls have been under chiropractic care since birth. I love knowing they are getting the absolute best start of life by building a strong and healthy immune system through chiropractic care.
My heartbeat has always been for children and now it is my passion and mission to spread the message of neurologically-based chiropractic care to our community.. especially to families!

Before becoming a part of the NHC team, I was a practice member! I came to New Hope Chiropractic because I was suffering from neck and back pain after the birth of my daughter. After just a few months of corrective chiropractic care, I no longer was suffering from any pain or symptoms! My family is under care as well! My husband no longer suffers from low back pain or daily migraines! Also, my daughter who has been adjusted since only a few months old, is getting the best start to a healthy life with a boosted immune system!
Having personally experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in my family’s life, I was excited to become part of the team here and join the mission of improving lives with a natural model of healthcare.
